The Escaped Diamonds

Carrying objects is a key object-handling skill that develops gross motor abilities and, through repetition, supports endurance, coordination, and executive function. Working together also strengthens the sense of participation, competence, autonomy, and belonging.

Game Instructions

  • The diamonds have escaped and need to be collected into treasure chests of the corresponding colors (hoops).
  • Balls from the ball pit are spread around the space as “diamonds.”
  • Children collect diamonds, either one, two, or several at a time.
  • Children carry the diamonds of the correct color to the matching treasure chest.
  • Vary the game by using different movement styles.
