Body Parts on the Wall

Body awareness forms the foundation for a child’s actions. When a child recognizes their own body, can understand and use sensory information, and act accordingly, they become a more skilled mover. You can increase the challenge in the Body Parts on the Wall game by varying movement types.

Game Instructions:

  • Move around the space by running from one end to the other.
  • Together, name the next body part to place on the wall, e.g., nose, head, soles of the feet, cheek, or palm.
  • The starting position is with the previously named body part on the wall.
  • Starting positions can vary between children.
  • Start the movement at a signal agreed upon together by the adult.
