Captain Says

In Captain Says, the captain gives commands to the children, which they carry out according to the instructions. In addition to verbal commands, it is helpful to use picture cards as support. Between commands, the children move within the designated area. Children who are “out” can assist the captain by giving commands. A child is out if there are not enough participants to complete the command. You can also design the captain’s commands so that no one is excluded from the game.

Examples of Captain’s Commands:

  • "Sailors on Deck" – Stand straight with one hand on your forehead (alone).
  • "Starfish" – Two children form a star by holding each other’s hands.
  • "Meal Time" – Three children form a circle and pretend to eat.
  • "Shipwreck" – Four children line up and perform rowing movements.
